My Personal Productivity Journey
I kept staring at my laptop, overwhelmed by the sheer number of open tabs and unanswered emails that held me frozen. This wasn't new to me, it had been my reality for months now. A wave of stress washed over me as I realized how far behind I was, yet I couldn't bring myself to tackle even the simplest task. It felt like my mind was paralyzed, trapped in a spiral of demotivation and overwhelming exhaustion.
After a decade of sacrifice and success as an entrepreneur, I felt demotivated for the first time. I used to thrive on deadlines, on the rush of closing deals. That relentless energy was my superpower. My businesses were my lifeblood, and I had a system I swore by. But slowly, the joy faded away. My framework began to crumble, and the pressure became unbearable. The same ambition that once fueled my progress, now felt like an albatross around my neck.
“How did I get here?”
They say “love what you do and you will never work a day in your life”, and that was the story of my life, until it wasn’t. Initially, I loved what I was doing, so it never felt like work. The constant hustle energized me, and weekends easily merged into workdays. I didn’t need holidays, and the lines between my personal life and business identity vanished. But the years of prioritizing work above all else had taken its toll.
As my life evolved and my energy, needs, and excitement started to change, this workaholic approach that had once been my fuel now left me feeling trapped.
The system that had been my lifeline started to feel suffocating. The joy slowly drained away, leaving me exhausted and disconnected. And that was the only system I knew, and I didn't change it as my priorities did.
I was running on autopilot, trapped by habits and routines that no longer served me.
One day, at a dinner party, a friend remarked, "You work all the time – you must love it." Their comment felt like a punch to the gut. In that moment, a brutal truth hit me:
I hated my job.
It was no longer a source of passion but a prison I'd built for myself. Something had to change.
I had to bounce back.
Finding a better way became my obsession.
Therapy helped me forge a healthier relationship with work, leading me on a quest for sustainable productivity. I immersed myself in a wealth of time management literature, exploring well-known methods like Getting Things Done (GTD), the Pomodoro Technique, the Eisenhower Matrix, and many others. Each offered unique perspectives, but none provided the complete solution for harmonizing workflow and well-being.
I began to question the very definition of productivity.
The breakthrough came when I realized that productivity is not a one-size-fits-all concept and the perfect productivity system wasn't about adopting a complex, all-encompassing method, but about creating a flexible, adaptable foundation that could evolve alongside my needs and goals.
And that's when my productivity method was born.
The Akiflow Solution
The method I eventually built stood in stark contrast to the rigid approaches I'd encountered. It was intentionally minimalistic – a core set of principles designed for customization and evolution. Instead of dictating my workflow, it empowered me to incorporate the best elements of other methodologies, tailoring my approach as life demanded. When overwhelmed, it provided a reliable anchor; when energized, it seamlessly accommodated more complex techniques.
What I now call “The Akiflow Method” transformed my life.
I no longer dreaded Mondays but felt a renewed sense of possibility opening my laptop. Instead of feeling lost in a sea of tasks, I approached my work with a clear plan and a calm focus. The weight of endless to-do lists lifted, replaced by a sense of control and a deep satisfaction as I made progress towards my goals. Evenings, once a blur of unfinished work, became true moments of relaxation and recharge.
I felt everything was under control. I felt confident and driven. And I was happy.
The true impact of this method became obvious as I began sharing it with others. Seeing its transformative effects on their productivity and well-being was incredibly fulfilling. Their feedback and stories inspired me to take things further. Realizing the power of this method, I wanted to make it accessible and easy to implement. That's why I decided to build Akiflow, a productivity app specifically designed to support these flexible, adaptable principles.
Productivity isn’t just a passion anymore- it has become my purpose. Helping people reach their potential and find fulfillment in their everyday lives is what drives me.
I'm genuinely excited to share the Akiflow Method with you. It changed the way I work and live, and I've seen it do the same for others. My hope is that it helps you take charge of your time, hit your goals, and build a system that brings balance, clarity and joy to your work.
